If you’ve seen my husband and me at any event, you probably already know that we love to match our outfits. It has become our signature style!

Whether it’s for church on Sundays or a special occasion, you can count on us showing up in beautifully coordinated, custom-made African garments.
Some of our clothes are crafted by talented creators in Ghana, West Africa, while others are designed and sewn by me.
Since I was born and raised in Ghana, and with my husband also having Ghanaian heritage, it's no surprise that we embrace the tradition of matching outfits for different occasions.
In Ghana, it's common for couples to coordinate their outfits, especially for significant events. It's also a way to express unity and celebrate our culture.
Ghanaian Textiles
Ghanaian fashion is known for its vibrant and intricate textiles, particularly woven and wax-printed fabrics. These textiles aren’t just for clothing; they’re also used in accessories, home decor, and event decorations.
They are a rich part of the country’s cultural heritage, with each design carrying its own meaning and history.
Kente
One of the most iconic Ghanaian textiles is the Kente cloth. Kente is celebrated for its unique weaving process, colourful patterns, and symbolic meanings.
Kente was once reserved for royalty and special occasions but it has evolved into a symbol of African pride and is now widely worn in various contexts, including fashion.

For our marriage ceremony, my husband and I chose Kente. We carefully selected the colours and patterns we desired and two different sets of kente were woven for us.
The weaving process took about eight weeks to complete. Yes, it was worth the wait for such meaningful and beautifully crafted fabrics.

Wax Prints
Another popular textile in Ghana is the wax print, which often features Adinkra symbols. These symbols carry deep meanings, representing proverbs, historical events and values.
Adinkra cloths are frequently worn during important ceremonies, in corporate settings, and even as everyday wear. Wax prints also showcase abstract designs and nature motifs that appeal to both traditional and contemporary tastes.
My Custom-made Sewing Projects
I love incorporating Ghanaian textiles into many of my sewing projects. This gives me so much joy as I intend to highlight the incredible craftsmanship and the rich and beautiful culture of Africa, especially that of Ghana.
I’m excited to share that our upcoming clothing collection will feature stunning African fabrics, and I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!
